The Cal/OSH Standards Board has a new chair and a new public member with the appointment of labor representative Dave Thomas to the former and Patty Quinlan to the latter. Both positions have been vacant since former chair/public member John MacLeod retired last December.
Thomas, 54, of Modesto, has served on the board since 2010. He is a business representative for the Northern California District Council of Laborers, a position he has held since 2009.
Quinlan, 61, of San Francisco, is deputy director of the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health at U.C.-Berkeley. She is a member of the American Academy of Industrial Hygiene, American Industrial Hygiene Association, American Public Health Association and American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists.
