Crane Operator Killed, Two Injured In Power Pole Encounter

A crew moving concrete barriers along Highway 395 tangled with a power pole the evening of April 16 in the desert town of Adelanto, killing a crane operator and injuring two co-workers.

The operator, identified as Paul Henry, 29, of Yucca Valley, died at a local hospital. The two other workers were seriously injured, but their conditions were unknown at press time.

According to Department of Industrial Relations press officer Kate McGuire, the crane "knocked down" the power pole, triggering the electrocution. The crew was working for Hill Crane Service of Bloomington, McGuire said.
