EMPLOYMENT RELATIONS – EMPLOYER AND EMPLOYEE, CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT, LICENSE Labor Code § 2750.5 (2019) – An injured worker, who did not have a contractor’s license, was deemed an employee of Employer, rather than an independent contractor. Moreover, Employer failed to establish that the contractor who hired the injured worker was not its employee. The contractor not have liability or workers’ compensation insurance, making him ineligible to use his contractor’s license to hire employees.
