ERECTION AND CONSTRUCTION - REINFORCING STEEL AND OTHER SIMILAR PROJECTIONS
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8 § 1712(c)(2) (2011) - An employee who was not wearing fall protection equipment was working on a ladder in the hazard zone of protruding metal objects not protected by guardrails or covers. The Division established a serious violation.
ERECTION AND CONSTRUCTION - FALSEWORK AND VERTICAL SHORING
Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8 § 1717(a)(1) (2011) - Falsework was not erected, supported or maintained so as to assure its ability to withstand all intended loads during usage. However, the evidence was insufficient to prove that a serious injury was likely to result from the violation, given the unusual circumstances. The ALJ reclassified the violation as general.
