A trim saw, one of severel used by Employer to trim small wood moldings, was guarded by a fixed hood with an opening of 2-1/2 inches between it and the blade. Usually, but not invariably, wood was passed through the saw in handfuls or bundles large enough to leave a gap between guard and wood of less than one
