PERMITS - EXCAVATION
CAL. CODE REGS, tit. 8, § 341(a)(1) (2003) - The requirement that employers obtain a permit before digging an excavation that will be five feet or deeper into which a person will enter does not apply where the entry will not be required until the depth has been reduced to less than five feet.
