  JURISDICTION – EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE RELATIONSHIP
   Labor Code §§ 6303, 6304.1(a) (2016) – An employer-employee relationship existed between Employer and an auto mechanic. Therefore, the Division had jurisdiction to investigate and cite Employer for safety order violations. 
  VIOLATION – CLASSIFICATION, GENERAL
   Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, §334(b) (2016) – The Division established that the cited violations, which related to employee health and safety, were classified properly as general. 
  USE, CARE AND PROTECTION OF ABRASIVE WHEELS – PROTECTION DEVICES
   Cal. Code Regs, tit. 8, § 3577(b) (2016) – The Division established that an auto mechanic was exposed to the hazard of a grinding wheel that did not have a protective hood or safety device. There was a realistic possibility of serious injury in the event of an accident caused by the violation; thus, it was properly classified as serious.
