SAN FRANCISCO - "The Laborers' International Union of North America recently stepped up its organizing efforts and won a big election. It unionized 1,000 chicken-plant workers in Mississippi. The workers complained that they needed a doctor's note to use the bathroom more than three times a week. Plus, they said, they had to pay 10 cents per cup for clean drinking water." ---Wall Street JournalCopyright (c) 1998 Cal--OSHA. All rights reserved.
