Public Hearing on Proposal to Define Mold as Unsanitary Condition

The Cal/OSH Standards Board will hold a public hearing Sept. 20 on two new proposals, one of which would define mold as an "unsanitary condition" in the General Industry Safety Orders (GISO). The board will meet in Los Angeles.The Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) developed the proposal based on a request from the Hazard Evaluation System and Information Service (HESIS), a joint project of the Department of Health Services and the Department of Industrial Relations.
