DOSH Outlines Policy Regarding Police “Generalist” Respirator Use

SACRAMENTO -- In a recent letter to Lee Violett, chief of police for the City of San Bruno, the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) outlined the key points of an emerging agreement between the Division and California Police Chiefs Association (CPCA) regarding the use of respirators in emergency situations by line police officers.As we reported in our March 14 issue (p. 7959), CPCA is seeking "reasonable and practical" guidelines regarding respiratory protection plans for line officers.
