Advisory Committee to Meet July 22 on Winch Level-Winding Petition

More than three years after the Cal/OSH Advisory Committee authorized it, an advisory committee is set to meet later this month to consider proposed Title 8 revisions designed to protect workers from winch accidents.The committee was authorized in March 2000 based on a petition by Thomas Mitchell of Custom Spooling Specialists to require "level winders" on mechanically powered winches.
