OAKLAND -- The Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board granted the following variances at its Oct. 21 meeting:Calpine Corp./Geysers Power Corp. LLC, San Jose: Permanent variance from General Industry Safety Order 5162(d), Emergency Eyewash and Shower Facilities at the Geysers Geothermal Field, Middletown.The company has acquired the operation from Pacific Gas & Electric Co. (PG&E), which had been granted a variance to the regulation in 1996. Calpine has now been added to the variance. B
