Cal/OSHA Eyes Home Construction for Fall Protection Emphasis

DUBLIN -- Residential construction has not received the same attention from Cal/OSHA as heavy construction, particularly with regard to fall protection. But that's beginning to change. The Cal/OSHA Consultation Service is instituting a Special Emphasis Program aimed at helping contractors "get on board" with safety standards, "especially roofing and high-level work," according to Consultation's Ian McKnight, project coordinator for the SEP.
