Clarification

By: Cal-OSHA Reporter

Our March 29 story "Worker Deaths in U.S. Up Slightly in 1997" (See NEWS, p. 7131) included a chart with incomplete information. The column labeled "Workers" should have had the notation "(000)" to indicate that the figures need three zeros added to them. For instance, the total number of workers in the construction industry in 1997 was 7,844,000. Our apologies for any confusion this oversight may have caused.
