SAN DIEGO - In the story at NEWS p. 00-5999 about the subway welders who were badly burned on the Metro Rail Red Line project, they were identified as employed by Kiewit Construction Co. of Omaha. Kiewit advises us that this is not correct. The welders were employed by Shea-Kiewit-Kenny, the joint venture hired by Metro Rail, and were under its control.Copyright (c) 1998 Cal--OSHA.
