Crossover, Firefighter Amendments Adopted

LOS ANGELES -- The Cal/OSH Standards Board adopted Title 8 revisions Jan. 20 that establish a definition and requirements for the term "crossover," and update safety orders requiring face shields and toe protection for structural firefighters.The first set of orders amends General Industry Safety Order (GISO) 3999(c), Conveyor Crossovers. The existing section did not define or explain what a crossover is, making enforcement unclear to both employers and the Division of Occupational Safety and Health.
