Governor’s Proposed Budget Will Beef up Loss Control Unit

SAN FRANCISCO - Governor Pete Wilson's proposed budget for 1995/96 gives Cal-OSHA $547,000 and adds seven new positions to the Loss Control Certification Unit for its work overseeing loss control consultation services of workers' compensation insurers consistent with Insurance Code 11721. The new positions will expand the unit from three to 10. The unit has already certified workers' comp insurers' annual plans, DOSH Chief John Howard told the Cal-OSH Advisory Committee. The added staff will act as audito
