High Court Negates Mandatory Arbitration in Injured Worker Firing

The U.S. Supreme Court voted 9-0 on Nov. 16 to reverse lower-court decisions that upheld company policies or union contracts that called for mandatory arbitration of disputes.The case, Wright v. Universal Maritime Services Corp., involved a South Carolina worker who had injured his back on the job and later recovered.
