IIPP Bill Pared Down Until Industry Concerns Can Be Resolved

BERKELEY -- Assemblyman Leland Yee has stripped AB 3037 to save it while he attempts to address concerns from the business community.The bill as originally written would require high-hazard employers to form safety and health committees or safety liaison teams as part of their injury and illness prevention programs. In turn, employers with effective committees could be eligible for incentives such as discounts on their workers' compensation insurance.
