Montana Company Hit With $200,000 in Proposed Fines

Fed-OSHA has proposed fines of $202,500 against a Montana company, Harp Line Constructors Co., for alleged violations of workplace electrical safety standards. The agency launched an inspection of the firm after a compliance officer determined that the convergence of high-voltage transmission lines at a Boise, Idaho, facility, represented a potential hazard. OSHA has charged Harp with one willful and one serious violation for allegedly not grounding equipment. Copyright 1999 Cal-OS
