SACRAMENTO -- State Sen. Tom Torlakson, who as a state Assemblyman wrote 1999's AB 850, which gave Cal/OSHA jurisdiction over permanent amusement rides, has introduced a related bill that would set a minimum age for amusement ride operators.SB 755, introduced in February, would add a section to the state Labor Code stating that an operator or ride attendant must be at least 18 years old.
