ALBUQUERQUE - Donald Levine, a pharmacist in Sherman Oaks, found a way to maximize his profits at the expense of workers' compensation carriers---until he was arrested on April 19, 1997, on charges of billing insurers for more drugs than he actually dispensed, and billing them for higher-strength medications than were dispensed.Levine pleaded guilty in Los Angeles Superior Court to 21 counts of fraudulent billings and has been sentenced to six years in prison.
