Dan Gadwah, a San Francisco Peninsula fireman whose job-related cancer sparked legislation providing workers' compensation benefits to firefighters who develop the disease, has died at 46.Gadwah, who worked for the South County Fire Authority, which serves the peninsula cities of Belmont and San Carlos, was diagnosed with angiosarcoma in 1998 and filed a workers' comp claim stating that the disease was the result of exposure to hazardous chemicals as part of his work.
