OAKLAND - At least one school district in California has written this into its contracts: "Supervisors, security guards, safety personnel and employees who have unescorted access to the site must possess proficiency in the English language in order to understand, receive and carry out oral and written communications or instructions relating to their job functions, including safety and security requirements." .ENDSECTION Copyright (c) 1998 Cal--OSHA.
