Three Workers Die, Two Injured in Latest Tosco Accident

The latest in a series of incidents at the Tosco Avon Refinery in Martinez has left three workers dead and two critically injured with burns and broken limbs.An explosion sent a fireball up a 100-foot tower at the refinery, where the workers were on scaffolding performing maintenance. The fireball burned off the men's clothing and melted their skin. One worker was pronounced dead at the scene and two others died of their injuries at area hospitals.
