A year that seemed to zoom by was a busy one for California's occupational safety and health agency. Highlights included Cal/OSHA's efforts to deal with popcorn lung, adoption of a landmark heat illness prevention rule, a controversial safety audit on the Bay Bridge project, work on pipeline safety reform, a much-anticipated revision of safety permit procedures and significant events on the Cal/OSH Appeals Board.
