The Cal/OSHA Consultation Service and a number of employers are sponsoring a free heat illness prevention expo today at 5 p.m. in Merced. The two-hour seminar will focus on personal and environmental risk factors. A bilingual consultant also will explain Cal/OSHA's Order Prohibiting Use power, under which it can shut down an agricultural operation if workers are in danger from heat illness.
