A Smokeless Elevator Landing

At its Sept. 20 meeting in Los Angeles, the Cal/OSH Standards Board granted the following variances to Title 8 safety orders:Canyon Lake Property Owners Association, Canyon Lake: Permanent variance from Electrical Safety Orders (ESO) 3121.11. The company sought the variance to allow it to install a heat detector instead of a smoke-sensing device for an elevator landing at a two-story building.The association wants to use heat detectors to avoid false alarms cause by vapors and smoke
