PORTLAND, OR - Assemblywoman Barbara Friedman's violence-in-the-workplace bill, AB 3230, was amended again in July by the Senate Industrial Relations Committee. All that remains of the bill is an addition to Labor Code 6401.7, the Injury and Illness Prevention Program, to add "protection of employees from violence in the workplace" as the seventh element that must be included in an employer's IIPP.Copyright (c) 1998 Cal--OSHA.
