Appeals Court Upholds Cal/OSHA in Teichert Aggregates Injury Case

Employers in earthmoving and hauling operators have a duty to ensure that equipment operators know when workers on foot are in the vehicles' vicinity, court rules, affirming Cal/OSH Appeals Board and Superior Court decisions. The case stems from a late-1990s case in which a worker was struck and seriously injured by an earthmover with an inexperienced operator.
