Assembly Panel Approves Diacetyl Bill, Gets Lesson In Cal/OSHA Rulemaking

Cal/OSHA's rulemaking effort on controlling diacetyl exposure in food industry is "very effective" and proceeding "extraordinarily fast," Assembly Labor and Employment committee told in a recent hearing. Conversely, labor representatives say diacetyl is so dangerous it should be banned outright. The committee hedged its bet by approving AB 514 while Cal/OSHA work continues. Cal-OSHA Reporter
