Bakers Group Calls New Cal/OSHA Flour-Dust PEL a Bad Regulatory Recipe

More than nine months after a revised permissible exposure limit (PEL) related to a commonly used baking material was adopted by Cal/OSH Standards Board, a trade association representing prepared-foods companies is asking the board to rescind the PEL.American Bakers Association (ABA) says the revision to General Industry Safety Orders 5155 for flour dust "is wholly without merit" and should not have been made. ABA petitioned the board to rescind the PEL, stating that Cal/OSHA should no
