Bridge Project Collapse on Napa River Kills One Worker, Injures Several – Others

Bridge builder C.C. Myers, Inc., Cal/OSHA and Caltrans are searching for answers in the wake of the fatal collapse Dec. 3 of a section of a bridge being built over the Napa River.Richard Christopher Stevens, 20, of Lodi, was killed and three workers were critically injured when falsework on the bridge project collapsed. Witnesses at the scene indicated the falsework might have slipped off a hydraulic jack used to brace it, or the jack itself slipped.
