Changes to Heat Stress Bill

Assemblywoman Judy Chu (D-Monterey Park) has made amendments to her bill that would add a legal requirement to the California Labor Code for employers to address the threat of heat illness among their workers. AB 805 is scheduled for an April 6 hearing before the Assembly Labor and Employment committee.The bill would require the Cal/OSH Standards Board to adopt a heat illness prevention standard by Dec. 1, 2006.
