Chevron Pipe Failure: Severe Corrosion, Low Silicon Seen as Culprits

Metallurgical tests conducted in the wake of the 2012 Chevron Richmond fire prove that the pipe that failed had severe corrosion, in part due to the lack of a corrosion-inhibiting substance. Here's the latest on the incident that took a major refinery off line.
