Comments on Massive Steel Erection Rule Focus on Training Issue

LOS ANGELES - With the new federal standard on steel erection procedures taking effect and California working to adopt an "at least as effective as" (ALAEA) standard here, one of the few remaining major issues involves whether the state's training component is adequate.The Cal/OSH Standards Board, meeting at the 4th St. State Building here Jan. 17, took public comments on the proposed state adoption. The board also held a public hearing on two other proposals, adopted two new safety ord
