The Cal/OSH Standards Board authorized advisory committees based on two petitions at its July 19 meeting.One was by Ray Ruggles, a recently retired construction safety coordinator for Caltrans District 11 in San Diego, who asked the board to consider expanding an existing element of CSO 1523 by adding road construction. The revision would specify road construction in a requirement for at least 10 foot-candles of illumination.
