Dear Says OSHA Will Push for Quality, Not Quantity

ANAHEIM - Assistant Labor Secretary Joseph A. Dear was in California May 26 to deliver a speech to the American Industrial Hygiene Association's annual meeting. Afterward, he answered questions at a news conference. He also met with various Fed-OSHA and Cal-OSHA officials while he was in California.In the AIHA speech, Dear said President Clinton has approved some new positions for OSHA, but they are not the answer to extension of OSHA's reach and range. "Reinvention is the key to OSHA's future."
