OAKLAND -- Len Welsh, acting chief of the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), reported at the Feb. 5 Cal/OSHA Advisory Committee meeting that Albert Cardenas, a legal counsel for the Division, was killed Dec. 29 in a motorcycle accident.Welsh lauded Cardenas, who represented DOSH before the Cal/OSH Appeals Board, for incisive writing in the cases he presented.Welsh also announced that Tom Hanley, regional manager for DOSH's High Hazard Unit, has retired.
