A Feb. 20 incident at Cal Poly-Pomona University that seriously injured a contractor worker illustrates the dangers of arc flashes, also known as a "short circuit through the air." The 53-year-old worker received a 12,000-volt jolt and has been on the critical list. Cal-OSHA Reporter
