Electrician’s Union Urges Governor to Fill Empty Seats on Standards Board

The business manager of an important Northern California union local has written to Gov. Gray Davis, asking for "prompt attention" to the vacancies on the Cal/OSH Standards Board.Jack McNally, of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1245, said the recently created vacancy in the public seat on the board, as well as the ongoing vacancy in the labor seat "seems to send the wrong message to the workers in this state."The public seat was vacated in June, when t
