The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has published an interim final rule establishing the procedures for handling whistleblower complaints under the Pipeline Safety Improvement Act of 2002. The agency is accepting comments on the rule until June 4, 2004.The act was signed into law in December 2002 and applies to pipeline facilities that transport natural gas or hazardous liquids in interstate commerce.
