Garment Sweeps Net 134 Safety Violations, $500,000 in Penalties

A California multi-agency enforcement sweep last week resulted in the discovery of 134 alleged safety and health violations and about $500,000 in proposed penalties, the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) reports.The sweep was conducted in the city of Los Angeles and Orange County by the Division of Occupational Safety and Health, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, the Employment Development Department and the California Conservation Corps.
