Howard Clarifies Trigger Levels for ‘Construction Activity’ Permits

In a recent letter to a roofing contractor, Cal/OSHA Chief John Howard clarified agency policy, stating that traditional roofing activities do not require a construction activity permit.The letter was prompted by an inquiry by the contractor asking if traditional roofing application work is considered by the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) to trigger a legal requirement for a permit.
