OAKLAND - Chances are the average construction worker has scarcely heard of AB 1127, last year's landmark safety legislation. At Richmond's C. Overaa & Co. Construction, however, 1127 awareness is a sign of the times - literally. At Overaa job sites, such as the Oakland Marriott Hotel, under construction near the city's airport, workers are greeted with safety placards that include the phrase, "This is an AB-1127 Job Site."
