Impact of Government Budget Struggle – on OSHA Programs

LOS ANGELES - Early in January, Fed-OSHA issued a summary of the effect the budget stalemate is having on its programs. It showed that state programs are suffering.The Bureau of Labor Statistics had to postpone data and information dissemination; however, BLS did manage to send out the report on the workplace injury and illness survey for 1994.Concerning occupational safety and health, OSHA said nearly 2,000 work site inspections were delayed, nor could the agency follow up on employee complaint
