SAN RAMON, CA - In spite of all the money employers spend on training for workers, a just-released study contends that up to 70 percent of workplace learning is informal. The Center for Workforce Development in Newton, MA, spent two years looking into when and where workers learn. The researchers observed conditions at seven companies and received responses from more than 1,000 of those companies' employees.
