FREMONT, CA - Cal-OSHA evaluated New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc.'s program for addressing ergonomic hazards in the course of an October, 1992, inspection of the plant. Several citations were issued and appealed. Serious violations of 3203(a)(4) and (a)(6) were alleged.Subsequently, a document was filed with the Cal-OSH Appeals Board on February 11, 1994, that contained a stipulated agreement that disposed of the issues on appeal and replaced the citations with a Special Order.
