Nationally, Lost Worktime Injury & Illness Cases Continue to Decline

Private industry reported 1.7 million injuries and illnesses that required recuperation away from work beyond the day of the incident nationwide during 1999, a slight decrease from the previous year, according to statistics released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).The decrease continues a trend that started in the early 1990s.
