SAN FRANCISCO - On the basis of an exhaustive literature review, NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) has concluded that "a large body of credible epidemiologic (human) research exists that shows a consistent relationship between" MSDs (musculoskeletal disorders, or repetitive motion injuries) "and certain physical factors, especially at higher exposure levels."NIOSH defines MSDs as "conditions that involve the nerves, tendons, muscles and supporting structures of the body."
